Closest to the ship, easiest with mobility needs or heavy luggage. Outdoor economy is the cheap end; the garage runs higher. Book online for the best rate.

Watch for: Garage/covered is the priciest option; sells out first on double-ship weekends — reserve the moment you have a sail date.

EZ Cruise Parking

The value pick — long-running independent lot, secured enclosure, constant shuttles, luggage help. Usually the cheapest good option.

Watch for: Shuttle adds 15–20 minutes each way at peak. Arrive early.

Galveston Park N Cruise

Close enough that many guests walk to the terminal with rolling bags — shuttle optional.

Watch for: Uncovered spots bake in summer; pay up for covered if you care.

Cruise day FAQ

How early should I arrive before my cruise?

Be on the island at least 3 hours before all-aboard, and treat the night-before hotel as the real answer. Ships leave on time; the causeway does not care about your boarding window.

Should I park at the port or use an independent lot?

Port lots buy convenience, independent lots (EZ Cruise, Park N Cruise, Lighthouse) save $5–15/day for a 15–20 minute shuttle or walk. With mobility needs or a tight schedule, pay for the port. Either way, book ahead — everything sells out on double-ship days.

Is Uber/Lyft from Houston better than parking?

For one or two people on a short cruise, rideshare from Hobby can beat a week of parking fees. Families with luggage almost always come out ahead driving and parking. Returning, allow for surge pricing when 6,000 passengers disembark at once.

What about the Bolivar ferry on cruise day?

Don't route through the ferry to reach the port on embarkation day — waits are unpredictable and can exceed an hour in summer. Come down I-45 over the causeway. Save the ferry for the fun free ride it is on a non-cruise day.

Where can I eat near the terminal before boarding?
